Empowering Lives: The Journey of Jigga World Foundation
Jigga World Foundation began with a simple observation: too many of our neighbors in Cumberland County were sleeping outside, going hungry, and facing barriers that seemed insurmountable alone.
For our founder, Dandray Lewis, this wasn’t just a community problem—it was personal. Having immigrated from Jamaica and faced his own share of struggles, Dandray recognized the thin line between stability and crisis that many walk every day.
“I’ve known what it means to start over, to feel like an outsider, to wonder where help might come from,” says Dandray. “The difference between thriving and surviving often comes down to whether someone reaches out a hand when you need it most.
Our Mission
Jigga World Foundation exists to create pathways from homelessness to hope in Cumberland County through immediate relief, supportive services, and systemic change.
We believe everyone deserves:
- A safe place to sleep
- Access to healthcare and hygiene
- The dignity of clean clothes and good food
- Transportation to critical services
- Skills to secure stable employment
- A community that sees their potential
Our Approach
We meet people where they are—literally. Through mobile services, street outreach, and barrier-free programs, we bring resources directly to those who need them most.
Our work isn’t about quick fixes. We’re building a comprehensive support system that addresses immediate needs while tackling the root causes of homelessness in our community.
